Are you ready for some football? Well, some football and a lot of commercials!
It’s true, all of those commercials add up apparently! The Wall Street Journal did a study a few years ago and found that between commercial breaks, replays, huddles and just general standing around there are only an average of 11 out of 60 minutes where the ball is actually in play during an NFL game.
Don’t get me wrong, sometimes the ads make the games more interesting but with the players making so much money to play and everyone paying so much to watch you would think that they would show a lot more of the action!
There are around 100 commercials played during an NFL game. Again that’s a lot of money! They have to make a ton off of the ad-space that they sell and yet we still can’t watch a football game without 800 replays of the same play over and over. We can always hope that they will try and update the system, I don’t think that the millennial generation will put up with the same amount of ads as past generations.
